I am the 3rd President of the Old Grammarians Society UK Alumni Association. On behalf of the executives of the Old Grammarians Society (OGS) UK, I welcome you.
This is the beginning of a new era and I would endeavour to build on the successes of the previous Presidents.
Wole Oguntuga 2003 - 2008
Kola Akinwale 2008 - 2012.
These passionate Grammarians have worked tirelessly to give the OGS UK the recognition it deserves and have also provided a solid foundation for the new executives to build upon.
As you are all aware, nothing good comes easy! There are enormous tasks ahead and I believe that with the help and support of everyone, we will achieve our goals.
There are a number of Grammarians living in London, the Midlands, up north Manchester and Liverpool. Growing the OGS UK membership base is a central feature of the current executive officer’s activities. We would like to see the OGS UK become a larger, stronger, vibrant alumni association with members being more dedicated, and ever so committed to the cause and to the School, not ordinarily by words but also by actions.
We are committed to establishing a platform that fosters collaboration, social inclusion and interaction, networking opportunities between members, their families and even with other external groups. Whilst also guaranteeing individual member's welfare and well-being. To enable us achieve these goals, we have recently redesigned and launched our new website, which we intend to continually enhance and transform into a first rate informative and collaborative platform. We have also established the Members Confidential Support Initiative to address and assist our members in dealing with any challenges that life throws at them. We also hope to organize regular Night Outs, Dinners for Wives/ Partners, Family Sporting Days and other social events that would improve networking and interaction. And most importantly, the annual Founder's Day and OGS UK Celebrations in June.
We intend to continue to reach out to all other OGS Alumni associations, particularly the Americas and the National body in Lagos, in sharing ideas and working together in order to make CMS Grammar School the best it SHOULD BE!
I genuinely welcome new ideas and suggestions to move the OGS UK Alumni to the next level. Hence, I like to encourage you to now register your name, if you have not already done so.
I look forward to seeing as many new faces as possible at our general meetings.
